House Major Remodel

Project Description

This project offered some of the same challenges many of our projects do such as; creation of new or larger openings in load bearing walls, an 8" step down from the kitchen area into the sunroom and family room that the client absolutely wanted removed and some custom detailing at the family room fireplace unit. All this work required the relocation of numerous electrical and mechanical services.

The work included new kitchen cabinets and granite tops, slate floors in sunroom, new hardwood flooring to match existing at the family room, customized built-ins and granite surround at the fireplace, new lighting throughout with electrical outlets placed in the floor of the family room and sun room to assist with furniture placement.

The kitchen is accented with under-cabinet lighting and subway tile at the kitchen backsplash. The work also included new windows and doors to the exterior with the associated rework of siding and trim, speaker wiring and special speaker grill fronts at the family room built in.

This was a design build project with plans developed by Builders Diversified working in concert with the home owner. The client is already talking to us about her project for 2005.
